Soldier of Media - Animation

Commercial Animation That Will Make Your Message’s Booty Move

Animation is your secret weapon in your war for the public’s attention and patronage.  Your competitors are shackled down with expensive video shoots, questionable on-screen talent, and a ho-hum “me too” production.  The animation approach, on the other hand, is your gateway to whatever you feel will grab your target base by the lapel and scream “LISTEN TO ME!”.  Nobody remembers the talking head spokesperson, but everyone remembers a mascot, an extreme situation, or an artistically-crafted message.  With an animated commercial, your message is limited only by your imagination.  It’s your chance to make an impact that your competitors simply can’t.

Check out the samples below, and then Contact SOM to get started on your new animated commercial and the future success it will bring.

Fly By Night :Kids, Dogs, Coffee & Wine
Script: Goff Media
Animation: Soldier Of Media

Hey!  I thought I saw those kids in Colorado?  Well, maybe they’re some distant cousins.  However, they cause just as much mayhem to this couch.  Using a familiar (yet copyright-avoiding) style, Fly By Night shows how their new line of sofas are kid-and stain-resistant (can’t promise resistance to chainsaws, though…)

Fly By Night : German Coils
Script: Goff Media
Animation: Soldier Of Media

This is an HD remake of a previous commercial made by Soldier Of Media (under a different brand) roughly ten years ago.  Instead of up-resing the original and calling it a day, the long-standing Northampton MA furniture store went the extra mile and re-did it from scratch. Now with a custom-made 3D modeled temple and jungle scene, Fly By Night shows the quality of their product in a memorable fashion that brings the customers in.
As an added-value bonus, this was made as a “donut”, meaning that the message in the middle can be swapped out to sell different products while keeping the familiar visual theme.  Its like getting two commercials for just a little more than one.

Mattress that stand, inflate, and talk?  You won’t be getting that with a live video shoot (OK, you can, if you want to pay through the nose). But this :15 spot came to life through the creative collaboration of SOM, Goff Media, and Dave’s Creative at a price that won’t keep you up at night.

Fenway Golf: Can’t Putt This
Script: Goff Media
Video/Audio: Dave’s Creative
Animation: Soldier Of Media

One of SOM’s first animated commercials (from 2007) gets an HD remake and a fresh new look.  Continuing the original’s theme of mixing animation with live-action, this is a perfect example of keeping your real-life storefront/environment while using animated elements to give if it life that an all-live shoot can’t accomplish.

Netflix : Congratulations! You Lost!
Script / VO : Solider of Media
Animation / Production : Del Padre Digital

Netflix went on a marketing blitz and commissioned various studios to create YouTube ads for the premiere streaming service.  At the time, the competition was the brick-and-mortar video rental store (remember those?), so “speed of delivery” was the theme.   This one was quickly put together, with some clever animation from Del Padre Digital.

Dish TV: The New and The Un-New
Client: Del Padre Digital
Animation / Script / VO: Soldier of Media

Sometimes less is more.  This was a campaign that, unfortunately, was shuttered before it aired, but it addressed an issue that customers gripe about: new subscribers getting all the great deals, while loyal customers are out in the cold.  The brief specifically said that “What the F***” had to be uttered (censored, of course), and a clever way around it was found (you’ll know it when you see it).

Pizza Hut: Mounds of Rivers Youtube Commercial
2D Animation / VO / Script : Soldier Of Media
3D Animation: Del Padre Digital

Going back to the days when apps were “new” and everyone had to have one.  Well, when you have a new product, you need some advertising.  SOM and Del Padre Digital tag-teamed this puppy with one big jerk of a phone, and some crazy animation.

Chicopee Mason and Landscape Supplies: Transformation
Script: Goff Media
Audio: Dave’s Creative
Animation: Soldier Of Media

Sometimes all you need is a photo and a lot of cutting out.  All that was given was an “end” photo of a completed backyard spruced up by CM&LS. Then, working backwards, the entire yard was torn up and re-created to the lovely..umm…”place” you see in the beginning.  Later, the CM Block character was created and added later to the commercial for added branding.

Netflix: Brisco and the Hammer
Script / Animation / VO : Soldier of Media
Audio Recording :  Audio Illuminati

Netflix went on a marketing blitz and commissioned various studios to create YouTube ads for the premiere streaming service.  At the time, the competition was the brick-and-mortar video rental store (remember those?), so “speed of delivery” was the theme.   The idea here is that the only way to get a movie faster than Netflix, is to actually be IN the movie.

American Pest Solutions
Script: Goff Media
Audio: Dave’s Creative
Animation: Soldier Of Media

If you’re in the Western Massachusetts area, its likely you’ve seen the “Good Guy” on the back of a American Pest Solutions van (insider secret: the illustration on the van was drawn by SOM!)  Here, he gets shrunk down to a little Good Guy to show the hidden critters that could be lurking in your home.  Despite looking like a real nursery was shot, all “real life” elements are actually just stock video, saving a pretty penny on the cost.

Netflix: Robot Servants YouTube commercial
Script: Solider of Media
Animation / Music : Del Padre Digital
VO: Brian Kelsey

Netflix went on a marketing blitz and commissioned various studios to create YouTube ads for the premiere streaming service.  At the time, the competition was the brick-and-mortar video rental store (remember those?), so “speed of delivery” was the theme.  Solider Of Media’s challenge was to assemble a working script using only public domain footage.  After that, Del Padre Digital worked their signature 3D magic on the piece.
